2026 STAFFING UPDATE

The board is pleased to have completed the appointment process and we can now announce our 2026 staffing. We had an incredibly high caliber of applicants, making the decision difficult. We welcome Miss Mitchell to a full-time role next year in Māhuri, and Whaea Philippa will continue in Kākano. We all know that these two teachers are experienced, that they care deeply for our students and their learning, and we are thrilled with the continuity they will bring to our school.
The Acting Principal role will be filled by Whaea Sara McKinley. Sara has been based at our school for 2 days a week with her Kāhui Ako role, has been our staff representative on the board, and brings a range of skills and talents that will ensure our school’s continued success. Kylie will be working closely alongside Sara to ensure a smooth transition and seamless support for our students, staff, and families throughout the coming year.
